Eat Cake for Breakfast

Bright. Colorful. Fun. This pretty much sums it up for Kate Spade. Just how I like to dress. And when it comes to decorating my house. And life in general. Bright colors make me happy. Like really happy. Instant mood lifter. Today I saw this purse and gasped.

If I ever get a nice laptop I think I'll buy this laptop sleeve.

I love these bright yellow bumblebee heels.

I'm in need of a new wallet and I think this one would be perfect!

Tea and Cakes

So I have always been obsessed with shoes. Flats, high heels, boots, you name it. I guess it's just a girl thing. Walking in high heels is a different story though. I'm pretty tall, so if you put me in anything more than a flat I am towering over people. Not only that, it's like I forget how to walk. I guess it just takes time. So, this past October I bought my first pair of high heels I've owned in a long time (Years!). I've only worn them once, but the night didn't end in a disaster! A few weeks ago I bought another pair of high heels for my husband's work Christmas party. They were actually very comfortable and easy to walk in! Score! Vince Camuto's Zella Hot Pepper. It's the perfect shade of red.

Last Christmas Zac bought me a purse made by Irregular Choice from Modcloth. I became obsessed. Well, their specialty is shoes. This year I asked for these shoes. Just looking at these shoes make me very happy! I normally wear a size 10, but the website said they run large. I wish I would have stuck with a size 10 because my right foot is slightly bigger than my left and now they are out of a 10. Bummer. I'll make it work somehow though!

Here are a few more pairs of shoes that I'm drooling over. My birthday is coming up so I am hoping to get at least one pair!

We just got the tree! It's Gorgeous!

I can't believe it's already that time of year! I love this time of year. I love all the decorations and Christmas music and family gatherings. And I'm even more excited that this Christmas will be spent with a sweet baby boy. Eeeeeeeek! (one more week!) So, Zac and I have been talking about what kind of tree we want. I told him I would LOVE to have at least two trees this year. One for our living room and one for upstairs in front of the window. If you know us or have ever been to our home, you know we love color. So of course we have to get at least one non-traditional tree, maybe two. So here are a few trees I've been eyeing on the internet.

I found this tree at Treetopia. They have so many colorful and fun trees. Now, I know we won't be getting this tree, but isn't it pretty and fun?! I am really considering this yellow tree from Treetopia though. It's only $88. It may happen.

This next tree is one we both like. I love the shade of blue, but not the price. I found it here. Hopefully, I can do some more internet searching and find one similar for less.

And now it's time for one of my favorite YouTube videos. I can still quote this even though I haven't watched it since last Christmas.

Time Flies!

Well, I didn't keep up with this blog like I thought I would have. Life got in the way. That's an excuse right? So much has happened since my last post in February! Let's see.........Zac and I sold our house and moved into our amazing new home. It's so funny we ended up in this house because I remember reading an article about it in a local magazine and I fell in love. A few months later I came across it on Trulia, but Zac didn't like it too much from the pictures so we never looked at it. We were under contract on a really cool home in OKC, but issues came up so we got out of the contract. Zac suggested we see if this house was still for sale and the rest is history! Now we're settled in and enjoying every minute. It's very bright and colorful. I'm so glad Zac and I have the same taste when it comes to decorating our home.

I also found out that I'm going to be an Aunt for the first time! Ahhh! My brother Aaron and his wife Marci are having their first little baby. Little Bentley is scheduled to arrive in about two weeks (this year has gone by so fast). He's going to be a turkey baby! I can't wait until he arrives. He is going to be one spoiled baby at Christmas. My mom has wanted a grandbaby since my oldest brother got married about 8-9 years ago. Sometimes I think she is more excited than Aaron and Marci! Okay, not really, but if you talked to her everyday like I do then you would understand. I've gotten a countdown number every day and constant emails of cute baby stuff off etsy. She is going to be in Grandma heaven and I'm so happy for her. I can't believe my parents are going to be Grandparents.......so weird.

Now to the present. So I bought a fancy camera a LONG time ago. I've used it, but I've never taken the time to learn anything about it. I've always used the automatic setting. Well Marci asked me to be in the delivery room when little Bentley arrives and to take pictures (and to keep everyone calm......my mom). So my good friend Brandy came over and showed me some of the basics. Since then I've been taking more pictures! Yay! Here are a few from my day today.
(Okay, so I know they are only spray paint cans, but I thought it looked kind of cool. I spray painted some gold Abe bookends today!)

Rudy was such a good little pugger model today. I know these probably don't look that great, but I am pretty proud of them! Mostly because I used the manual settings and had to adjust everything. I'm slowly learning! Okay, well now it's bed time! I need more sleep to get through Mondays. Have a great week everyone!

And these lips.

I think I will finally be able to start decorating in 2 months and I can't wait! Eeeeeeek!

Valentine's Day Bridal Shower

A dear friend of mine is getting married in just a few weeks to her love. (Brandy was my first roommate!) I wanted to throw her a "friends" shower and it just happened to be Valentine's weekend, so that was the theme! I could not have done this without the help of my talented Mom. I wish I was as creative as her! Here are a few pictures of the shower.

My mom's good friend Bobbie made this Love Shack out of a Victoria's Secret bag! Again, I wish I was this creative!

Cake Dots from Sugar! These are so good. Really, really good. This is also where Brandy's wedding cake is coming from. I can't wait to see it! And taste it!

I wasn't planning on buying a cake for the shower, but I found this the morning of at Target for $5. Yep, an adorable valentines cake for $5. Sadly, there was way more food than guests and we never got to try this. (RSVP people!!!) But I did send it home with the bride-to-be.

Cupcakes!
Chocolate covered strawberries!

This is a close up of the banner my mom made. It turned out so cute. I know she spent a lot of time on it. Thanks again for your help Mom!

I hope Brandy enjoys these last few weeks up to her wedding!

Thank You Klippan

Wow! What a weekend it has been. And it's been forever since I've posted on this thing. But anywho........Zac and I are still trying to sell our house and find a new one. Let me just say that getting your house ready to sell is so much work! Blah! We have had it on the market since November and did a lot of work to get it ready. But our furniture didn't match and our living room setup was pretty bad. So, this past weekend Zac and I decided to take a last minute trip to IKEA for some new furniture. IKEA is so great, especially if you're on a budget. Luckily, we get to go back next weekend when we visit my brother and sis-in-law in Houston! :) Can't wait!!!

Here is a pic of our living room before....

I hate the brown curtains. I hate how our furniture doesn't match. Both pieces are comfy though. And I hate how the maroon loveseat blocks the fireplace.

Here are a few after pictures.

So it still may not be perfect, but I promise it looks a million times better! And ignore the pupper crate in the pictures. It could still use some improvements but hopefully this will be more appealing to buyers! The living room definitely flows better. I'm very proud of all the work we've accomplished this past weekend!

Here are just a couple more pics of our past weekend.

Little Scully Bug Baby Tobias My new wine glass from Cloverleaf in Ardmore. Love the clearance section! And love the store!

I seriously could spend way too much time in this store. My mom took me to the one in OKC on my birthday a few weeks ago and Zac let me run in on the way home from Texas on Saturday! Love it!
I hope everyone stays safe and warm with the upcoming weather!
