I've been dreaming.....

Lately my conversations with Zac consist mostly of our next home. We're both really anxious to move into a newer home and start decorating! (Okay, maybe just me) We can't decide if we want to hire an architect and build a house, buy an older home and renovate, buy a brand new house......ahhhh what to do! Regardless of our next move I've been dreaming of stuff to put in our house. :)

I blame this on my mom but for the longest time I've wanted a modern AND retro kitchen. I would LOVE to have this fridge!

And this stove.........

And they have a matching dishwasher. Love the red!
I love this table from CB2.

This grellow dresser would look awesome in our future bedroom! Okay, so we already have a yellow dresser in our bedroom so maybe this one could go in our guest bedroom.

And at last I love this bed.

Dancy Friday

I am off work every other Friday and somehow I end up spending a majority of my day listening to 80's music. I LOVE 80's music. I never get tired of listening to it. Plus it's the best dance music. I've always wanted to open up an 80's bar/club. Maybe it will happen one day! I think it would be way more fun than making maps. Here are a few of my favorite 80's songs. This first song was recently put on repeat at my friends surprise birthday party. It was a good night.

This next song really gets my shoulders moving. I don't know how you could hear this song and not dance. Even if it's just shoulder dancing. (which i'm doing right now) Ignore the actual video........not very good, but it's all I could find.

The next song just makes me happy. And it was on Family Guy. And there is awesome dancing.

This song was on one of my previous posts, but I love it too much. Again, awesome dancing.

Okay, this is the last song I am posting. I promise. I could keep going, but this would be a forever long post. Have a good holiday weekend everyone and hooray for football being back (And pumpkin spice lattes @ Starbucks)! Let Fall begin! Loves.

Let's Dance

so i was hoping i wouldn't go this long without updating but that is life and it's been super crazy lately. i thought after i graduated from OU that i would have all the time in the world to do everything i wanted but that is definitely not happening! i've had so many projects planned that i want to start but it seems like i never have time! work consumes most of my time but one day that will change. one project that i have actually started (but is still not done) is the painting. here are a few sneak peeks, but just know that the pictures aren't the best and touch ups are still on their way. ta-da! black and white stripes. we love them. one important fact that zac and i have learned since we started painting is that we are not good painters. our floors are covered in paint because we are so messy and that is even with drop cloths. oh well! we're getting new floors eventually. =)

so one of the next major things we are going to do is buy new furniture and things to make our place look pretty. here are some couches we are looking at.......we both love this blue one. we really want to get a sectional so we can have more seating, however, we want to add the chaise to the sectional but we dont think' the measurements will work. i also love this red and white striped chair! i think i'll take two please.

another thing that zac and i are planning to do is move our tv to a different wall. the living room will flow a lot better (i think) once it's on the other wall. we're moving it to the "accent" wall. we painted it bright yellow. i think the tv will look good against the bright yellow wall with either a zebra or gazelle on each side. what do you think? zebra or gazelle!?

well it's my bedtime! im going to finish watching my episode of ghost adventures and call it a night. and in honor of tomorrow being the start of the weekend i will leave you with this music video. (and you might want to go watch labyrinth now) please click here ---> let's dance. hope this gets you ready for the weekend!

Covered in paint

Hello all! So I have been slacking on my blogging but that is because I literally have been painting every single day since the 10th. Zac and I were so excited about painting and now we very much dislike the idea. ;) Not completely, but we are literally painting the entire house! It's a work in progress, but we are getting there. We've painted the living room, half of the hallway, our accent wall, the kitchen, Zac's bathroom, our chalkboard door (the paint decided to peel off as of yesterday, we were not very excited) and lots and lots of trim!! Oh....and the fireplace too. No more nasty fireplace! It's bright and white and we love it. Here are a couple pictures (taken from Zac's phone, not the best quality) until we are done!
(I was scared of our bright yellow wall at first, but I LOVE it!)

I probably won't be updating again until this weekend. This week is going to be full of painting and lots of dancing tomorrow night with my sister-in-law at a concert thanks to my sweet husband! Have a great week everyone!

Paint Time!

I'm so excited that we are going to start painting tomorrow!! I'm sure we will be spending most of our weekend painting, but it will be well worth it! I think the part of the house I am most excited about is our hallway! We're painting black and white horizontal stripes! I got the inspiration from a couple different places. Here, here, and here. I'm in love with all of them! I would have never considered it if it wasn't for these pictures. Here is a picture of our hallway now.

Boring! I'll be sure to post pictures after we're done painting. Here are a few more pictures of some rooms that I love!

And I love this wall!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th everyone! I can't believe it's already July. This year has really flown by!

Zac and I got to sleep in this morning! I usually don't sleep past 8 anymore, but I slept in until 10:30 today! It was much needed. We cooked a huge brunch to start our day off. Eggs, bacon, biscuits, and banana chocolate chip pancakes. Yummy.

I decided that I needed to feel fancy this morning so I couldn't drink my milk out of any ordinary glass.

We also had a special musical guest to entertain us while we cooked breakfast.

Rainy Afternoon

Guten Tag! Well this is my very first post on my blog. Hopefully I will keep it up to date. I decided to start my own blog after becoming addicted to everyone else's. I also thought it would be a fun way to keep family and friends updated on Zac and I since we just got married! =)

We're extremely anxious to start fixing up our house. Zac bought this house last summer when he moved back to Oklahoma. We weren't planning on making any big changes since we were going to be moving next year, but we've decided to stay in the house longer. So now the fun will begin! We're going to be re-painting every room. Rearrange our living room and buy new furniture, switch out light fixtures, fans, new floor, etc.! Right now all of our stuff is just thrown together and although I don't like stuff to be too "matchy"...........our stuff just looks bad. I have a puke green, crushed velvet couch (I do love this couch, it's so comfy and graduated college with me) and Zac has a maroon/deep red leather love seat.

Blah! We're dying to paint! We're most likely starting on everything next weekend! I'll definitely have pictures as we update each room. =) Now I'm off to enjoy some more of this rainy afternoon and look through my Dwell magazine that came in the mail today. Yippee!
